However, if you chose to opt out of auto-renewal – or if you had unpaid violations that prohibited you from participating in auto-renewal, or if you pay by a means besides paycheck deduction – you are now responsible for registering electronically (starting May 15) or in person at the Parking Office (starting June 1). More information regarding “active” registration follows. Active Renewal Process Begins May 15If you opted out of auto-renewal – or, if you do not pay for your permit via payroll deductions (e.g., you pay by credit card), and/or if you still have outstanding citations after April 30 – you will need to take an active role in registering for your 2011-12 permit. Starting May 15, you may visit www.rochester.edu/parking and click on the “registration” link. Simply follow the on-screen instructions (you’ll need your Net ID and password). If you do not have internet access or simply prefer to renew in person, you may stop by the Parking Office to complete renewal paperwork starting June 1. Again, please remember that you must pay all outstanding violations before registering for the 2011-12 parking year. Once you’ve renewed, your new permit will be mailed to your address on file; if necessary, please update this information by calling (275-4524) or stopping by the Parking Office. If you fail to renew by June 30, your AVI tag will not allow you into your gated lot (at the Medical Center). Don’t delay! If you renew your permit before June 1 (via auto-renewal or online), we’ll enter you into our PARKING SWEEPSTAKES for a chance to win a reserved space in your assigned lot for one year. On June 30, your current University parking permit will expire. This year, to make re-registration easier, we implemented a new auto-renewal process. If you pay by payroll deduction, had no outstanding violations, and wished to stay in your current lot, you were renewed automatically on April 30.
