New Year, New You: Employees Divulge How They Stuck to Last Year’s Resolutions

Change is rarely easy, but it’s almost always worth it. But don’t take our word for it…University of Rochester employees who nailed last year’s health resolutions offer some of their own strategies – and encouragement.

With the Greece Park & Ride off to a successful start, the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (RGRTS) had begun considering offering shuttle service between Irondequoit and URMC/Highland Hospital. Now, in the interest of gathering more riders, RGRTS is considering expanding that potential Irondequoit shuttle to also include service to and from Webster (the shuttle would begin pick-up in Webster, stop in Irondequoit, and then continue on to URMC/Highland Hospitals). Fee for this service would be $1 each way, amounting to considerable savings in terms of fuel and parking permits over the course of the year. Occasional parker privileges (24 passes per year, provided free of charge) would be issued for use on days when riders need their car parked on premises. Should riders choose to stop using the RGRTS service during a trial period, the Parking Office would reinstate URMC parking privileges to their original lots. As RGRTS planners are evaluating possible schedules and pick-up/drop-off locations in both Webster and Irondequoit, the Parking Office is trying to determine how many employees would regularly use this express shuttle service. If you are seriously open to exploring this option and would like to be kept informed as plans progress, just visit the Parking Web site, click “Online Parking Services,” select “Add Waitlists,” and choose “RTS Irondequoit/Webster Shuttle.” (If you signed up for the Irondequoit shuttle waitlist back in the spring, you do not need to sign up again.) |
