These are the latest traffic updates as of Sept. 8:

Temporary Closure: Mount Hope’s Southbound Curb Lane

Thursday, Sept. 9, Liberty Underground will be installing cable on the west side of Mount Hope between Elmwood Avenue and Crittenden Boulevard.

Crews will only block off Mount Hope’s southbound curb lane from approximately 150 feet north to 300 feet south of Elmwood Avenue. All proper signs will be in place. Regular traffic patterns are expected to resume by 3 p.m.

Update on East Henrietta Road Project

Work continues on the section of East Henrietta Road stretching between Mount Hope and South Avenue. The project is about 90 percent complete.

There will be intermittent delays for temporary work involving roadway striping, which is scheduled for the week of Sept. 7 through 10. Signal and lighting work is expected to be completed by Sept. 21.

South Clinton Avenue Water Main Project

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in either direction on the section of South Clinton Avenue between Highland and Elmwood avenues. Closures will remain in place for several weeks.

North of Elmwood, final asphalt work and resurfacing will impose traffic disruption between Oct.15 and 30.

Mount Hope Avenue Corridor Project

Fort Hill Terrace access from Mount Hope willl remain closed as part of the Mount Hope project; traffic pattern signage is updated to reflect this change. Granite curbs and sidewalks are being installed as part of this permaneant closure.

Aside from miscellaneous clean-up and intermittent RG&E electrical work to line cable through an underground conduit, there has been little construction activity on Mount Hope. No major work by utilities is expected until proper land acquisitions and "right of way" amendments are complete.

Mount Hope Avenue (South City Line to Rossiter Road)

Pavement repairs are planned for the section of Mount Hope Avenue/West Henrietta Road stretching from the south city line (Erie Canal at 390 overpass) up to Rossiter Road.

Work is anticipated to begin in this area in preparation for pavement resurfacing. No dates have been set, but we anticipate the following prep activity to occur between Sept. 10 and Nov. 20:

- Rochester Pure Waters will review their basins and re-pour the caps on an as-needed basis within these limits.

- Also, the City of Rochester will be leveling the stretch of road near the city line to improve ride quality and repair large potholes. Crews will mill a 3-foot-wide strip adjacent to both curb lanes from Westfall Road to Rossiter Road.  In addition, they will repave the traverse joint located along the north leg of Lattimore Avenue and Mount Hope Avenue.
